Calm Minds is a structured, supportive group counseling program designed for adolescents experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm. This group provides teens with a safe space to learn practical coping skills, build emotional awareness, and connect with peers facing similar challenges.
Who This Group Is For
- Adolescents age 12–17
- Teens experiencing anxiety, depressive symptoms, stress, or emotional distress
- Youth who may benefit from peer support and skill-building in a group setting
Group size: 6–10 participants
Format: Closed group (participants remain the same throughout)
🧠What Teens Will Learn
Through evidence-based and developmentally appropriate activities, participants will:
- Improve emotional awareness and expression
- Learn healthy coping and stress-management skills
- Reduce negative self-talk and unhelpful thinking patterns
- Strengthen emotional regulation and resilience
- Build supportive peer connections in a judgment-free environment
Therapeutic Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- DBT-informed coping skills
- Mindfulness-based techniques
- Person-centered, strengths-focused support
📅 Group Details
- 8 weekly sessions
- 60 minutes per session
- Led by a licensed counselor or supervised counseling intern experienced in adolescent mental health
Screening & Enrollment
All participants complete:
- An intake questionnaire
- A brief screening interview
- Parent/guardian consent
