Substance Use Psychoeducational Class for Adolescents

  Our Substance Use Psychoeducation Group is a structured educational program designed to help adolescents understand the effects of alcohol and drug use, make informed decisions, and develop healthy coping skills. Through interactive discussions and evidence-based activities, participants gain knowledge, build resilience, and strengthen their ability to make positive choices.

The group helps adolescents:

• Understand substance use: Learn how alcohol, vaping, marijuana, prescription medications, and other drugs affect the brain, body, emotions, and behavior. 
• Recognize risk factors: Identify peer pressure, stress, and other influences that can increase the risk of substance use. 
• Develop healthy coping skills: Learn practical strategies to manage emotions, stress, and difficult situations without relying on substances. 
• Strengthen decision-making: Build confidence in setting boundaries, resisting peer pressure, and making healthy choices. 
• Improve self-awareness: Explore personal values, goals, and the long-term impact of choices on health, relationships, and the future. 

This psychoeducational group is appropriate for adolescents who want to increase their knowledge about substance use, parents seeking prevention-focused education for their teen, or youth referred by schools, healthcare providers, or other professionals.

Duration: 4 weeks (1 hour per week)

In-Person Group

Wednesdays 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Online Group

Tuesdays 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Fees

Registration $20

Classes $30/hour ($120 per class for 4 Hours) 

 Individual one-on-one sessions are also available for adolescents who prefer a private learning experience.
